Pumpkin Pastures is a location where the illagers haven’t destroyed yet. It is the third location found, unlocked after winning the Creeper Woods Default I mission. It is the last location available in the beta.
If difficulty terms, Pumpkin Pastures is harder than Creeper Woods, containing more Enchanters and introducing Chicken Jockies, Geomancers and Evokers, the latter being the first bosses and minibosses of the game. By this point, a player should have a strategy in mind, lest they be defeated.
In the area's mission. the player must get to, alert, and defend a village from an incoming illager raid. One complete, the Wandering Trader is unlocked.
Mission: The Last Hearth[]
The camera flies over the ruined land, and then the undamaged village in it. The Narrator urges the player to hurry and warn the villagers of the incoming battle.
The player starts in front of an arrow-littered bridge, which they must cross. They must then weave around a hill, then take the path up and cross a bridge across a river, various mobs trying to stop them.
Afterwards, the player is treated to some plains, where, while enemies are somewhat more sparse, are more dangerous, with Chicken Jockies possibly spawning.
Then, the player goes around or crosses a pirate style boat, and afterwards crosses past a wall via a breach presumably caused by the Illagers. Then, the player enters another plains section, which contains a supplies chest, and may possibly contain a Geomancer.
Next is the inner wall, with a small stone arena in front. Before the player can pass through, the Arch-Illager locks the gate and summons an Ambush.
The first wave of the Ambush is two Vindicators, one armored. The next is a Vindicator and a Geomancer. Then, two armored Vindicators and an Enchanter, and finally, and Enchanter and four Vindicators, one armored.
Once the Ambush is taken care of, the player must lower a drawbridge to get into the village proper. To do so, they must flick two levers, while being attacked by swarms of mobs.
On the other side of the drawbridge is another supplies chest and a group of mobs, with a mini-boss Evoker among them.
After those, the pathway continues, with a supplies chest and eventually with another mini-boss Evoker among them.
Finally, the player reaches the village. After ringing the warning bell, the Arch Illager appears and starts another ambush.
The ambush starts with 5 waves of varyingly armored Vindicators, backed up by Geomancers and Enchanters. After that is a boss Evoker.
Finally, once the Ambush is defeated, the player can enter the town hall to complete the mission.
